Cognify Quickstart: Ask Questions, Get Answers

Cognify is iDataWorkers’ AI-powered analysis engine. It lets you ask questions about your data in plain language and returns clear, actionable answers — no SQL queries, no complex dashboard building. Think of it as having a data analyst on call 24/7.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Open Cognify

From the iDataWorkers sidebar, click Cognify. The query bar appears at the top of the screen. Below it, Cognify shows suggested questions based on your connected data sources.

Tip: Suggested questions are a great way to explore what Cognify can do with your specific data.

Step 2: Ask Your First Question

Type a question in plain language. Cognify understands context, so you do not need to specify table names or field IDs. Examples:

“What were our top 5 products by revenue last quarter?”
“Show me customer churn rate by region”
“How many support tickets were opened this week vs last week?”
“Which sales rep has the highest close rate?”

Press Enter or click Ask. Cognify processes your query across all connected sources and returns a response.

Step 3: Understand the Response

Cognify returns answers in the format that best fits the question:

Numbers and text for simple lookups (“Revenue last month was $1.2M”)
Tables for comparisons (“Top 5 products by revenue”)
Charts when you ask for trends (“Show me monthly growth”)

Each response includes a confidence indicator and a link to the underlying data, so you can always verify.

Step 4: Refine and Follow Up

Cognify maintains conversation context. You can ask follow-up questions without repeating yourself:

Step 5: Pair with Copilot Dexi

While Cognify answers your questions, Copilot Dexi proactively surfaces insights you did not think to ask. Enable Dexi from the sidebar and it will:

Alert you to anomalies (“Support tickets spiked 40% today”)
Suggest questions based on data changes
Provide a daily briefing of key metrics
